Bone-chilling temps, erratic gusts of wind and super-slow snow challenged racers during the men’s and women’s biathlon pursuits. But that didn’t stop Quentin Fillon Maillet of France and Norway’s Marte Olsbu Roeiseland from increasing each of their gold medal counts.

When Olympic athletes aren’t busy training or competing, they like watching the other sports as much as the rest of us do. Cross Country Skier asked some of the Davis U.S. Cross Country Ski Team members which ones they like to watch the most.
Out of a crowded field of 98 skiers, Novie McCabe, who started fifth, skied to 24th place, finishing in 30:34.9, which was two minutes and 28.6 seconds off the pace of gold medalist Therese Johaug. Finns Kerttu Niskanen and Krista Parmakoski took silver and bronze, respectively.
